SoCal Update

On the March 17 episode of SoCal Update, KPCC Arts and Entertainment Reporter Mike Roe discusses Disney’s announcement about reopening its Southern California theme parks. KCET’s Managing Site Editor Daniel Medina shares highlights of a COVID-19 timeline reflecting on the past year of our lives.

Both Disneyland and California Adventure are set to open their gates on April 30, thanks to revised state guidelines letting theme parks open far earlier than expected. It could help boost the local economy, with more than 10,000 employees set to return to work.

It's been more than a year since the pandemic upended our lives. Impacts include work-from-home orders, voting by mail and even clandestine hair salon appointments. But we also look at bigger social issues and news events.
