'I Play Rocky,' a Career-Making Performance by Anthony Ippolito, at the Fall Cinema Series

The film screens on Tuesday, October 6 at 6:30 p.m. The screening is sold out.

Producer Toby Emmerich sent the script to director Peter Farrelly, and it made an immediate impression on him. Farrelly shared, “I’ve known Toby for 30 years, and one day he called me out of the blue and said, ‘Hey Pete, I read a screenplay last night, and it feels like the best script ever, but I’d like to know what you think’” says Farrelly. “I picked it up and I could not put it down. It actually was the best script I’d ever read, and by far it was the best script that was ever sent to me.”

“Rocky is a film about perseverance, holding onto your dreams, not taking no for an answer, and fighting for what you believe in. The message of the movie and the message of that character resonate with so many people,” says producer Emmerich.

Immediately following the screening, Deadline’s chief film critic Pete Hammond, who can also be seen on PBS SoCal’s Must See Movies, moderates a post screening Q&A with Oscar-winning director Peter Farrelly (Green Book), lead actor Anthony Ippolito, and actor PJ Byrne.
