The Life of Chuck Trailer #1 (2025)

Stephen King has published an extraordinary range of work throughout his prolific career, but he remains best known for redefining horror. From haunted hotels and possessed cars to small towns hiding unspeakable secrets, King's name is synonymous with the uncanny. His settings, Salem's Lot, Castle Rock, Derry, are touchstones of American fear. His creations, from killer clowns to demonic forces, have helped shape the modern mythos of the genre.

Screenwriter/director Mike Flanagan, too, has become a defining voice in horror over the last decade, earning acclaim for his emotionally resonant and deeply unsettling stories across both film ("Gerald's Game," "Doctor Sleep") and television ("The Haunting of Hill House," "Midnight Mass").

A passionate fan of King's work, Flanagan has repeatedly returned to the author's canon, not for the more obvious horror icons, but for stories with emotional weight and unexpected complexity. With "The Life of Chuck," that instinct has led him somewhere wholly unexpected.

Immediately following the screening, Deadline’s chief film critic Pete Hammond, who can also be seen on PBS SoCal's Must See Movies, moderates an in-person Q&A with award-winning actor Chiwetel Ejiofor ("The Lion King," "12 Years a Slave," "The Martian").
