Writers Contest

PBS SoCal is proud to announce the local winners of the 2019 PBS SoCal KIDS Writers Contest.


The winners in grades K-3 were recognized at a special celebration on June 8 and receive books and prizes.

Writers Contest Ceremony: June 8

PBS SoCal received a total of 895 stories from local Southern California children. All stories were read and judged by community members and PBS SoCal staff. Four (4) winners were chosen for kindergarte, first place, second place, and third place for each grade. PBS SoCal also selected one winner per Humor, Illustration, Science Fiction and Kindness categories.
