PBS SoCal is excited to announce this year’s featured artist for our annual local artist collaboration during Public Media Giving Days. We partnered with Los Angeles based artist Esther Tejano to create an exclusive collection.

The Esther Tejano x PBS SoCal collection reflects the vibrancy of Southern California’s richly diverse history, with artwork inspired by the landscape and communities from the mountains to the coast. This year’s thank you gifts include a hoodie for everyday wear, a t-shirt for summer heat waves, and a canvas tote bag for commuting and errands.

The Esther Tejano x PBS SoCal collection is available April 17 through May 28 only. Explore the collection today.

Your local PBS station’s collaborations will continue to celebrate the creative and cultural values we share with our local artist community. Support your community by donating to this campaign here.

Meet Esther Tejano

Esther is a Filipino-American artist based in Los Angeles, CA who immigrated to the U.S. from the Philippines when she was about 12 years old. She’s currently working full-time in Visual Development for a feature film and is also a Freelance Illustrator with a strong background of working in the animation industry for about 8 years now. Her personal style reflects her love of being outdoors appreciating nature and also her passion to represent and connect with her Filipino roots. Color wasn’t her strongest skill until she started to tap into her culture for inspiration. From there, a new love for color was born.

“For every piece she starts, she hopes for a fun adventure.“

What’s next?

Last year, a few friends and herself came together to put a small art show to connect with their Filipino-American identities during FAHM (Filipino American History Month) in October 2025 titled, Ako, which means “I” in Tagalog. This year, they plan to do it again. Stay tuned on her social (Instagram: @myarttable)  for announcements!

You can currently find Esther’s work at the Pop Hop Bookstore in Highland Park, CA.
