ASU FIDM Museum’s Fashion Statements exhibition is now open, showcasing how clothing plays a significant role in shaping identity, culture, and history.
Running through Nov. 9, 2024, the exhibition draws from the museum’s extensive 15,000-piece archive, spanning three centuries, and highlights over 70 garments chosen by a diverse group of 36 prominent fashion leaders, many based in Los Angeles.
Key highlights of the exhibition include a 1952 Christian Dior cocktail dress, a 1938 Elsa Schiaparelli evening ensemble, and a Patrick Kelly ensemble, among many others, demonstrating fashion’s deep connection to cultural narratives and artistic expression.
