September 16 marks the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence. Learn more about this day with activities for the entire family. Guest performers include Mariachi Tierra del Sol Juvenil de Los Ángeles, the Neighborhood Music School's (NMS) mariachi teaching ensemble. The group focuses on traditional Mexican repertoire, such as rancheras, boleros, sones, and polkas. Art and a garden workshop will be part of the day's activities, plus  DJ music throughout the day. Food and beverages will be available for sale.
