On April 26, 2026, the Glendale Youth Orchestra (GYO) presents "A Mahler Portrait” as part of the 37th Season Finale Concert. Experience the sweeping grandeur and profound emotional depth of one of the greatest symphonic composers of all time — Gustav Mahler. This one-night-only event features a full performance of a one of kind symphony for a truly unforgettable musical journey under the baton of Henry Shin, music director & conductor. The concert will also feature the 2026 Concerto winner Elijah Bursch (18, Crescenta Valley High School), trombone, performing the Grøndahl, Trombone Concerto.

The GYO is celebrating 30 years of performing at the Alex Theatre which is celebrating its Centennial. This concert is sponsored by the City of Glendale Arts & Culture Commission. The GYO is supported, in part, by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors through the Los Angeles County Department of Arts and Culture.

Tickets are $18.00 and may be purchased from the Alex Theatre Box Office. Students, children and seniors may purchase tickets for $16.00 each.
