Academy Award-winning filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro (The Shape of Water, 2017; Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, 2022) brings his adoration for the Master of Suspense to the Academy Museum for five nights of in-depth lectures focusing on five genres explored throughout Alfred Hitchcock’s five-decade career. Each night focuses on the unique cinematic language of a specific film by the celebrated British filmmaker, who could captivate popular consciousness while also plumbing the deep, dark recesses of human psychology. A lifelong obsession of Del Toro’s, Hitchcock’s films are unpacked, examined, and analyzed on stage in meticulous detail across five consecutive nights.
