JazzPOP celebrates its 19th season with three concerts showcasing a cross-generational kaleidoscope of West Coast creative jazz. Organized by San Francisco Bay Area bassist Lisa Mezzacappa. Portland multi-instrumentalist Machado Mijiga does not sit still. At just 31 years old, the prolific performer and producer has already released three dozen albums and a slew of singles and EPs spanning genres from jazz to R&B to electronica and hip hop. For his concert at the Hammer, Mijiga and his trio will embrace the eclecticism, pulling from all corners of his vast body of work to synthesize its unique quirks into a tight and lively performance.
