Mark your calendars!! We’re doing it again!!~📣✨
Join The Civil Rights Institute on Thursday, August 27th. from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM (doors open at 5:30 PM) for the opening of our newest exhibition, Sight Unseen Reframed, a powerful new exhibition showcasing the photographic work of California blind and visually impaired photographers. Curated by the late Doug McCulloh, this exhibition challenges traditional understandings of sight, perception, and artistic expression through compelling imagery and personal perspectives. Sight Unseen Reframed invites visitors to experience photography through a new lens while celebrating the creativity, innovation, and lived experiences of blind artists. 🌟
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Altura Credit Union and California Humanities for their generous support of this exhibition. Their commitment to expanding access to the arts and uplifting community-centered storytelling helps make exhibitions like Sight Unseen Reframed possible, creating meaningful opportunities for learning, dialogue, and connection for communities throughout Inland Southern California.
