The Art of Sharing, a visually driven documentary short exploring food recovery, creativity, and community through the work of California nonprofit Food Forward, will screen at the 29th Annual Dances With Films LA Festival on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at 4:00 pm at the iconic Chinese Theatres in Hollywood.

The documentary follows Michelin-starred chef and artist Minh H. Phan during her artist residency with Food Forward, a California nonprofit dedicated to rescuing fresh surplus produce and redistributing it to communities experiencing food insecurity. Through the partnership, Phan transforms rescued produce into meals, art, and communal experiences that explore food waste, nourishment, creativity, and human connection.

At a time when food insecurity and food waste continue to impact communities across California, the film invites audiences to rethink excess, access, and the role food can play in building stronger communities and caring for one another.
