"Homelessness and the Unhoused in L.A.," an online virtual conversation, will take place on Sat., Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. via a Zoom link that will be emailed to all who pre-register prior to the event. Participants on the panel include Vanessa Delgado (Founder and President of Azure Development), Becky Dennison (Executive Director of Venice Community Housing) and Dhakshike Wickrema (Deputy Secretary of Homelessness at the California Business, Consumer Services and Housing Agency). The panel will be moderated by CAB member Charmaine Jefferson.

The virtual event is being planned and produced by PBS SoCal and KCET’s Community Advisory Board and in particular, the social Issues and outreach committee. PBS SoCal and KCET’s community engagement efforts with its viewers and supporters would not be possible without the help of their Community Advisory Board. The active group of volunteer leaders is the stations’ eyes and ears of the community. The group plays an integral part in the planning and implementation of many outreach programs including the annual Local Heroes initiative recognizing individuals in the community who are making a difference.

The PBS SoCal and KCET CAB’s social issues and outreach committee chair is Gary Phillips and includes Charmaine Jefferson, Dan McCrory, Lauren Schlau, Karen Mack, Denise McIver and CAB Chairperson Laarni Rosca Dacanay.
