Anthony Hopkins, Anne Hathaway Star in 'Armageddon Time,' Early Screening at the KCET Cinema Series
Director James Gray strove to make the most intimate and clear-eyed movie he possibly could. He wanted to liberate the story from the trappings of genre and to remove any barriers to sincerity. Above all, he wanted to be truthful. He remembers that he wrote four words on a piece of cardboard, taped to the camera as his constant reminder: "Love. Warmth. Humor. Loss." And in this film, loss took on many different forms.
