KCET Cinema Series Previews "The Bronze" on March 8

The KCET Cinema Series continues March 8 at the ArcLight Cinemas Sherman Oaks with a screening of "The Bronze." In the film, the multi-talented Melissa Rauch, best known to TV audiences as Bernadette on "The Big Bang Theory," portrays Hope Ann Greggory, a former Olympian-- still basking in the glory of her bronze medal and with a bad attitude regarding her declining celebrity status in town-- must now train an up-and-comer. The film was written by Melissa and Winston Rauch and directed by Bryan Buckley. "The Bronze" also features Gary Cole, of the cult favorite "Office Space," as Hope Ann's father. Thomas Middleditch ("Silicon Valley"), Sebastian Stan ("Captain America: The Winter Soldier") and Cecily Strong ("Saturday Night Live").

Pete Hammond, host of the KCET Cinema Series and columnist for Deadline, describes "The Bronze" as a "wild comedy" that follows in the recent trend towards Olympic-themed films like "Race" and "Eddie the Eagle."

Melissa and Winston Rauch will join Hammond for a Q & A session immediately following Tuesday night's screening. The spring season of the KCET Cinema Series is sponsored by E. Hofert Dailey Trust and brings the best of Hollywood and independent films to audiences prior to their theatrical releases. Previous screenings in the series include "Eye in the Sky" and "Hello, My Name Is Doris."
