'Mack & Rita,' A Charmed Comedy With A Twist, Screens at the Virtual KCET Cinema Series
Los Angeles based actor and filmmaker Katie Aselton shared that when reading the screenplay for Mack & Rita for the first time, she was reminded of several films that were meaningful to her as she grew up, from "Big," "Freaky Friday," to "13 Going on 30."
She said, "It was so much fun to make this film, and I hope audiences will come away from it with full hearts. And it is more than simply fun. Figuring out who you are and being true to that is a challenge for everyone. This is a movie I want my kids to see, my younger self to see, my mom to see… it carries a message for everyone at every age."
Immediately following the screening, Deadline's chief film critic Pete Hammond, who can also be seen on KCET's Must See Movies, moderated a Q&A with the film's director Katie Aselton.
