Real-Life Crime Thriller 'The Good Nurse' Screened at the KCET Cinema Series

The film screened on Oct. 11 at the Aero Theatre, with a Q&A immediately following with director Tobias Lindholm, co-stars Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne, and the real life nurse Chastain portrays in the film, Amy Loughren.

Danish screenwriter and director Tobias Lindholm makes his English-language feature debut with "The Good Nurse," starring Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne. The film is based on real events, Redmayne plays Charles Cullen, a nurse who poisoned hundreds of patients with fatal drugs. Chastain plays a fellow nurse, Amy Loughren, who helped to bring him to justice.

Immediately following the screening, Deadline’s chief film critic Pete Hammond, who can also be seen on KCET's Must See Movies, moderated a Q&A with director Tobias Lindholm, co-stars Jessica Chastain and Eddie Redmayne, and the real life nurse Jessica portrays in the film, Amy Loughren.

The long-running in-person film series returns in October to the historic Aero Theatre in Santa Monica, while the popular virtual series continues on Eventive, a technology platform designed specifically to enhance the online film viewing experience.
