Obamajam: President in Town on Friday for Luncheon
Traffic congestion in Los Angeles is expected to be a little bit worse than usual this Friday thanks to presidential company. President Barack Obama is touching down for three and a half hours for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Santa Monica at the home of entertainment executive Peter Chernin.
In case anyone is interested, admission is $10,000 and the price for lunch and a photo-op is $16,200. Add on another $16,200 (the maximum allowable contribution to a party committee in a calendar year) and you get to engage in a "special discussion" and be promoted to luncheon co-chair.
The June trip will mark Obama's 14th to the L.A. area since taking office. After lunch, he'll be heading over to Rancho Mirage for a discussion on North Korea's nuclear program and Chinese cyberattacks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
