Obamajam: President in Town on Friday for Luncheon

Traffic congestion in Los Angeles is expected to be a little bit worse than usual this Friday thanks to presidential company. President Barack Obama is touching down for three and a half hours for a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in Santa Monica at the home of entertainment executive Peter Chernin.

In case anyone is interested, admission is $10,000 and the price for lunch and a photo-op is $16,200. Add on another $16,200 (the maximum allowable contribution to a party committee in a calendar year) and you get to engage in a "special discussion" and be promoted to luncheon co-chair.

The June trip will mark Obama's 14th to the L.A. area since taking office. After lunch, he'll be heading over to Rancho Mirage for a discussion on North Korea's nuclear program and Chinese cyberattacks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Here are the streets to steer clear of:

  • Centinela Avenue and West Olympic Boulevard, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30
    a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • West Olympic Boulevard and Cloverfield Boulevard from 9:30 a.m. to
    11:30 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.; and
  • 26th Street and San Vicente Boulevard in the Brentwood Park area,
    from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
