PBS SoCal Plus (KCET) Joins the PBS App's Live Streaming Lineup

Starting August 3, 2026, PBS SoCal Plus joins the PBS platform livestreaming lineup including the PBS App and PBS.org. This free, local livestream will be generated from the PBS SoCal Plus channel’s broadcast feed and is available to residents in the greater Southern California area. Bringing viewers more ways to watch PBS content online at any time of the day regardless of antenna, cable or satellite connection.

I. What is happening?

PBS SoCal Plus is joining the PBS Platforms livestreaming lineup. The stream includes content from locally produced shows as well as acclaimed PBS favorites on the live linear stream.

II. When is this happening?

The livestream launches Monday, August 3, 2026.

III. Where can I watch it?

Viewers can watch PBS SoCal Plus live on PBS Platforms, including the PBS App and PBS.org. To watch, open your preferred platform and select PBS SoCal Plus from the live channel lineup to start watching.

This is separate from the existing PBS SoCal livestream already available at pbssocal.org/live. This new launch adds a livestream specifically for PBS SoCal Plus.

IV. Does the viewer need to take any steps to make this change?

No action is needed. Viewers can visit the PBS App or PBS.org and select PBS SoCal Plus from the live channel lineup.

V. Is there a cost? Do I need to create an account and login to view?

No cost and no account or login is required to watch the PBS SoCal Plus livestream. An account is only needed to access extended on-demand PBS library with Passport membership and is not required for the livestream.

VI. Who can watch it?

Anyone with access to the PBS App, PBS.org can stream PBS SoCal Plus live. Viewers who currently watch over the air, on able or on satellite are not affected and can continue watching as they do today. This is another streaming option for making it easier to watch the programs viewers love.

VII. Why is this happening?

This launch gives viewers another way to PBS SoCal Plus programming live, in addition to over-the-air broadcast, making it easier for viewers to watch the programs they love.
