We are Youth Voices students at Mountain View HS. Our community cause is to make a school garden dedicated to Bobby Salcedo and that inspires others to increase the green space in El Monte.
The native garden will honor Mr. Salcedo while beautifying the campus and create a space for the school community to come together to learn, and become stewards of the environment.
The garden must be maintained properly so that, in its beauty and emphasis on environmental stewardship, truly commemorates Mr. Salcedo's lasting legacy and ultimately becomes an important part of what Mountain View High School represents.
Students discover they have a second chance at establishing a school garden with the help of the teacher who led the first attempt.
Visiting Earthworks Farm educated us on the conditions and the necessities of maintaining a garden-space.
We want to create a Bobby Salcedo Memorial Garden at Mountain View High School that commemorates his legacy and creates a stepping stone for future environmental improvements at our school.
