Ashley Vickers Named Vice President Human Resources For PBS SoCal, KCET and Link TV

LOS ANGELES – October 20, 2021 – The Public Media Group of Southern California, the parent company of PBS SoCal, KCET and Link TV has named Ashley Vickers as Vice President, Human Resources, reporting directly to Jamie Myers, Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Vickers will serve as a member of the Executive Management Team, responsible for developing and delivering best practices in HR management, as well as provide strategic HR leadership and perspective for the organization. She will oversee all HR functions, including employee engagement and retention, employee/labor relations, HR strategic planning, total reward, diversity and inclusion, risk management, compliance, talent acquisition, workforce management, as well as learning and development.

Ashley Vickers has played a vital role at the Public Media Group of Southern California since the merger of KCETLink and PBS SoCal approximately three years ago. She has led organizational integration efforts in addition to pandemic response efforts spearheading COVID-19 prevention. She has overseen critical operational and policy issues that have included remote work, telecommuting, compliance and the safety of staff in the building and in the field. Vickers has played an essential role in efforts to build the organizational culture across departments and has been instrumental in the development as well as implementation of change and risk management initiatives. Additionally, she has been responsible for the training and response protocols for the organization.

Vickers will also provide leadership in diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) efforts. To date, Vicker’s DEI efforts have included the design of an internal DEI framework, the launch of organizational Employee Resource Groups and collaboration with the Board’s Task Force on Anti-Racism and Social Justice.

Ashley Vickers received a Masters of Science in Human Resource Management from Villanova University and brings nearly 15 years of human resources experience in both the public and private sectors. She serves as a board member with the University of California, Riverside Transformative Leadership Board and with the Pasadena/Altadena Ivy Foundation. Vickers is also the President of the Pasadena, CA chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
