Los Angles, Calif. – November 14, 2022 – PBS SoCal and KCET, Southern California’s flagship PBS stations, announced today 10 nominations for the National Arts and Entertainment Journalism Awards presented by the Los Angeles Press Club. The nominations were spread across eight different categories and honored locally produced series/productions from KCET and PBS SoCal. Winners will be announced in all categories presented during a ceremony on Sunday, December 4. A complete list of nominations can be found at lapressclub.org

KCET Original arts and culture series ARTBOUND received the most recognition with five nominations, three of which highlighted the “Con Safos” episode regarding Rubén Funkahuatl Guevara. While week day news documentary series SOCAL UPDATE (a public media partnership between KCET, PBS SoCal and KPCC) was nominated for three awards. Additional nominations included Carren Jao for “Personality Profile, Performing & Other Arts” and KCET Original historical documentary series LOST LA forDocumentary or Special Program, Short under 30 minutes” regarding a “German Exiles” episode.
