PBS SoCal and Variety Announce New Season of 'VARIETY STUDIO: ACTORS ON ACTORS' Featuring the Best of Television Acting Talent

Los Angeles, Calif. – June 11, 2021 – Variety and PBS SoCal, the home of the entire PBS schedule for the Southern California region, announced today the schedule for the fourteenth season of the Emmy® Award-winning series VARIETY STUDIO: ACTORS ON ACTORS. Co-produced by PBS SoCal, the newest season of half-hour specials will offer audiences exclusive, one-on-one virtual conversations between top acting talent from this year’s most notable television shows who are expected to contend this Emmy® season. The new episodes will premiere back-to-back starting on Fri., June 18 at 8 p.m. on PBS SoCal with encores on Fri., July 2 at 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on KCET. All episodes will stream on pbssocal.org following their premieres and will also be available to watch on the free PBS Video app.

VARIETY STUDIO: ACTORS ON ACTORS will be airing on PBS stations across the nation starting in June (check local listings). Variety’s Actors on Actors issue hit newsstands on June 9.

The new season of the series features conversations below and will air as follows (subject to change):

Fri., Jun. 18 at 8 p.m. on PBS SoCal and Fri., Jul. 2 at 7 p.m. on KCET
This episode features Nicole Kidman (The Undoing) with Chris Rock (Fargo) and Josh O’Connor (The Crown) with Anya Taylor-Joy (The Queen’s Gambit).

Fri., Jun. 18 at 8:30 p.m. on PBS SoCal and Fri., Jul. 2 at 7:30 p.m. on KCET
This episode features Ewan McGregor (Halston) with Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) and Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision) with Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso).

Fri., Jun. 18 at 9 p.m. on PBS SoCal and Fri., Jul. 2 at 10 p.m. on KCET
This episode features Kaley Cuoco (The Flight Attendant) with Elizabeth Olsen (WandaVision) and Emma Corrin (The Crown) with Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton).

This episode features Gillian Anderson (The Crown) with Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) and Uzo Aduba (In Treatment) with Billy Porter (Pose).

In May 2019, Variety’s “Actors on Actors” on PBS took home a Daytime Creative Arts Emmy award and has been awarded the Emmy for best entertainment programming at the 2015 and 2016 Los Angeles Area Emmy Awards. “Actors on Actors,” an interview special that features pairings of prominent actors discussing their craft, is produced by PBS SoCal in partnership with Variety Media, LLC.
