Variety and PBS SoCal Announce New Season of Variety Studio: Actors on Actors

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Variety and PBS SoCal present Variety Studio: Actors on Actors, the third installment of the awards season series, which will begin airing December 27 at 6:00 p.m. on PBS SoCal (KOCE HD). PBS SoCal recently won a Los Angeles area Emmy® for a special episode of Variety Studio: Actors on Actors, which aired last December.

The third season of Variety Studio: Actors on Actors will once again feature fascinating, intimate conversations between the top talent from the year's most notable films. This season has three episodes:

Episode 301 airs Sunday, December 27 at 6:00 p.m.


  • Cate Blanchett (Blue Jasmine & Truth) and Ian McKellen (Mr. Holmes)
  • Will Smith (Concussion) and Benicio Del Toro (Sicario)
  • Michael Keaton (Spotlight) and Samuel L. Jackson (The Hateful Eight)
  • Brie Larson (Room) and Joel Edgerton (Black Mass)

Episode 302 airs Sunday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m.


  • Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) and Kate Winslet (Steve Jobs)
  • Steve Carell (The Big Short) and Rooney Mara (Carol)
  • Bryan Cranston (Trumbo) and Jason Segel (The End of the Tour)
  • Elizabeth Banks (Love & Mercy) and Carey Mulligan (Suffragette)

Episode 303 airs Sunday, January 3 at 7:00 p.m.

The Variety Studio: Actors on Actors series will also air in New York on WNET/WLIW and be distributed to PBS stations around the country in January. (Check local listings.)
