Variety and PBS SoCal Announce New Season and Talent Line-Up for Variety Studio: Actors On Actors

Sixth season of actor on actor conversations will premiere on PBS SoCal June 13; clips presented by Shutterstock will stream on Variety.com in May

LOS ANGELES, CA –– Variety and PBS SoCal KOCE announced today the actor lineup and schedule of the sixth season of the LA Area Emmy Award-winning Variety Studio: Actors on Actors, a series of specials co-produced by PBS SoCal. The new season will include exclusive one-on-one conversations with top talent from this year’s most notable television programs. Clips will appear on Variety.com starting at the end of May. Full episodes will premiere on PBS SoCal KOCE June 13.

The series features pairings of acclaimed actors talking to each other about their lives, their craft and their careers. This season’s featured conversations include: Oprah Winfrey (The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks) with Thandie Newton (Westworld), Sarah Jessica Parker (Divorce) with Michelle Pfeiffer (The Wizard of Lies), Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies) with Ewan McGregor (Fargo), Brit Marling (The OA) with Issa Rae (Insecure), Riz Ahmed (The Night Of) with Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale), Anthony Anderson (Black-ish) with Kaley Cuoco (Big Bang Theory), Minnie Driver (Speechless) with Christine Baranski (The Good Fight), Lauren Graham (Gilmore Girls) with Constance Zimmer (UnREAL), Giovanni Ribisi (Sneaky Pete) with Kaitlin Olson (The Mick), Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things) with Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld), Sterling K. Brown (This is Us) with Pamela Adlon (Better Things), John Lithgow (The Crown) with Kevin Bacon (I Love Dick) and Milo Ventimiglia (This is Us) with Freida Pinto (Guerrilla).

Variety Studio: Actors on Actors will be distributed to PBS stations across the nation starting in June (check local listings).

This year’s Variety Studio: Actors on Actors video clips on Variety.com will be presented by Shutterstock – a leading global provider of imagery and music. Shutterstock will shoot portraits of the acclaimed actors featured in the season and showcase the exclusive photography from the studio for license on its digital platform. The talent will also have the opportunity to enjoy the Shutterstock lounge located on site prior to their shoot. All the Actors on Actors video interviews will be presented by Shutterstock on variety.com.
