America Ferrera Talks Representation and Latina Identity
America Ferrera is the executive producer of the new Netflix show “Gentefied,” a bilingual drama following three Mexican-American cousins’ fight to keep their grandfather’s taco shop open. Ferrera herself is a first generation Latina whose parents immigrated from Honduras. She joins Michel Martin to discuss how her experiences shape the way she portrays the Latinx community.
