Yale's Eliyahu Stern on Antisemitism and the Ukraine War
History itself has been distorted and deployed as a weapon in the war in Ukraine. Russia's claim to be de-Nazifying Ukraine took an uglier turn when the country's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said it didn't matter that Ukrainian President Zelensky is Jewish, because Hitler – he claimed – was part Jewish. It's a comment that – unsurprisingly - was widely condemned.
