Meet the First Black Briton Heading a Major Theater Company

Kwame Kwei-Armah was the first Black artistic director of a major American theater. Since 2018, he has been artistic director of London’s Young Vic theater, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Christiane and Kwame sit down in the theater’s empty auditorium to discuss the impact of coronavirus, the vitality of Black Lives Matter, and the importance of re-imagining the future.
