Theatre Producer Kate Pakenham Discusses "Emilia"
Emilia Bassano Lanier was the first professional female poet in the English language, and while her beauty may have inspired Shakespeare's sonnets about a "dark lady," it was her own words that she wanted to be remembered for. A new play with an all-female cast is finally giving Emilia her dues. It's brought to the stage by acclaimed theater producer Kate Pakenham, who joins the program.
