Detroit PBS is shining a light on our region’s history with its “Destination Detroit” documentary. It explores the histories of people who helped shape Southeast Michigan, including Karen Batchelor. She talks about her family's 1917 arrival inDetroit, and she explains how researching her family tree led her to become the first African American member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
