African World Festival returns for 40th annual celebration

Summer is here, and Detroit’s highly anticipated African World Festival is near. The annual festival, organized by the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, celebrates 40 years in the city this year from July 14-16 at Hart Plaza. Festival Director Njia Kai shares what attendees can expect from the festival’s 40th year celebrating the arts and culture of the African diaspora.
