It’s estimated that 53 million Americans serve as caregivers for aging family members. Often, they fall into this role suddenly and without any preparation. In a report for the New York and Michigan solutions journalism collaborative, producer A.J. walker takes a look at a program in Detroit that teaches individuals how to handle the many responsibilities that come with being a caregiver.
