Plowshares Theatre Company

Detroit’s Plowshares Theatre Company was working on a play called “Hastings Street” when the pandemic struck. The story is set in 1949 in Detroit’s thriving African American business district known as Black Bottom. The neighborhood was later demolished to make way for urban renewal and highway construction. One Detroit’s Will Glover spoke with the team behind the theatre production.
