Reenacting the Murder of Kitty Genovese
In this excerpt from the Independent Lens film The Witness, Bill Genovese watches as an actress recreates the moments leading up to his sister Kitty Genovese's death in the same part of Queens, New York in 1964. The actress's screams seem to fall on deaf ears in a way they supposedly did when Kitty was murdered. Either way, it's an emotionally vivid re-enactment for Bill.
