Spanish American War
On February 15, 1898, in Havana Harbor Cuba, an explosion destroyed an American Battleship, killing 266 men on board. The United States subsequently declares war on Spain. The war lasted 13 weeks, and during victory negotiations, the U.S. acquires Puerto Rico.
