Sight Words

Season 2026 Episode 9

Sight words make up 50 to 75% of all words in early reading materials. These are whole words learned by sight, rather than sounding them out. Repetition is the key. For a fun way to practice, have your child form sight words, letter by letter, with Play-Doh. Working on 3 to 6 words per session will help a child recognize these common sight words instantly, building confidence and reading fluency.
