PBS SoCal recognizes Dr. Alberto J. Román as a Local Heroes Honoree for his work at educational institutions developing and advancing educational programs for underserved communities. In his prior role as college president of ELAC, he increased college access for underserved students and closed achievement gaps through rigorous academic programs and student support services.
