About Hillary Cohen & Sam Luu

Hillary Cohen and Sam Luu, Assistant Directors in the Directors Guild of America, co-founded Every Day Action in 2020 to rescue unserved gourmet meals from film and TV sets and deliver them to unhoused and food-insecure communities. Today, the nonprofit diverts over 120,000 pounds of food annually to shelters, community fridges, local organizations, and individuals in need. Their Industry Driver Program also provides paid 1099 work to film industry professionals between jobs. EDA is currently developing the Food Insecurity Shared Hub in partnership with several LA-based nonprofits, aiming to expand operations as funding becomes available. Their work combats food waste, supports sustainability, and uplifts both the entertainment and local communities.
