Interview with Matthew Thomas

Matthew Thomas wrote We Are Not Ourselves, his debut novel, over the course of ten years while teaching high school. The intimate, rich novel tells the story of Eileen Tumulty, the child of Irish immigrant parents, and her pursuit of the often elusive American Dream. Rafael Pi Roman speaks with Thomas about his inspirations for the book, his characters and themes and the writing process.
