Liang Lawyers Push for Retrial Alleging Juror Misconduct
Former NYPD Officer Peter Liang was convicted of manslaughter in February for fatally shooting Akai Gurley in a public housing stairwell. Juror Michael Vargas did not disclose that his father was sent to prison decades ago for an accidental shooting, but told the NY Daily News. Now, Liang's lawyers are alleging juror misconduct and have filed an appeal.
