Adelanto Outbreak | September 17

On the September 17 edition of the Reporter Roundup, KPCC reporters report the latest on the Bobcat Fire, the Conception boat fire, and the COVID-19 outbreak at the Adelanto Detention Center. 

The Bobcat Fire continues burning, hitting the 50,000-acre mark of burned area today. Sharon Mcnary talks about the latest communities affected. 

New details have emerged about the Conception boat fire that killed 34 people a year ago. Lita Martinez shares how a cell phone charger is related to the National Transportation Safety Board’s findings about the boat’s final voyage. 

The Adelanto Detention Center has had more than 3-dozen detainees test positive for COVID-19. Elly Yu reports the latest from the facility and why advocates are calling for release of immigration detainees.
