The Silver Fire in the San Gorgonio Pass has already charred 11,000 acres, prompting the closure of many areas within San Bernardino National Forest's San Jacinto Ranger District. "It's precautionary," said Carol Underhill, a public information officer, "we don't expect the fire to go into the area."

Black Mountain Road (2E35), a single lane, dead-end dirt road is among the closures, which also includes Black Mountain Trail (2E35), Black Mountain Fire Lookout, Fuller Ridge Trailhead, the six isolated campgrounds known as Black Mountain Yellow Post Sites, Black Mountain Group Camp, Boulder Basin Campground, Lake Fulmor Day Use Area, and Highway 243 between Banning and Azalea Trail (4S02).

Because wildfires create a fluid situation for authorities, it's always good to check with the Forest Service and Reserve America, depending on your planned activity.
