The Desert Speaks
Bats
Season 5
Episode 1
- Bats – the night-time counterpart to birds – are the only mammals that truly take wing. These furry flyers take care of business at night, eating insects, pollinating flowers, and generally playing a vital role in the desert ecosystem. This program highlights the natural history of these mammals, offering recent research which puts bats in a better light than belfries and bad Bela Lugosi movies.
