The War
FDR's Day of Infamy Speech
On December 8, 1941, the day after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President Franklin D. Roosevelt asked a joint session of Congress for a declaration of war. Families in Sacramento, Waterbury, Luverne, Mobile and across the country gathered around their radios, and students at Auburn stood outside Langdon Hall to hear the address from a loudspeaker truck.
