Celebrate the Twenty-Fifth Anniversary of 'Visiting With Huell Howser' With a Ten-Hour Marathon on KCET
Get ready Huell fans! We will be airing twenty rarely seen "Visiting" episodes as a tribute to the program’s 25th anniversary, some of which have not been broadcast for over ten years. See how Huell’s amazing journey began over a quarter of a century ago: visit the unique Glass Museum in Redlands, tour the restored WWII supply ship Victory and join Huell in his stunning look at beautiful orchids. The marathon begins Sunday, August 5 at 10:00 a.m. on KCET.
Huell Howser produced more than one thousand episodes of various public television series (including "California's Gold" and "Visiting") over the course of thirty years. KCET will treat southern Californians to this binge-worthy event to highlight Huell's dedication to preserving the culturally diverse and rich history of California.

Artists – 10:00 a.m.
Huell visits with two L.A. artists, Milford Zornpalmses and Guillermo Bert, at their studios.
Twentynine Palms – 10:30 a.m.
Huell visits the desert community of 29 Palms and takes a tour of the seven historical murals commissioned by the Action Council for 29 Palms.
The Rose Lady – 11:00 a.m.
Huell spends the day with Miriam, ”The Rose Lady." For thirteen years she has picked a beautiful bunch of roses and taken them to her local post office where she is welcomed daily with friendly faces.
Metrolink – 11:30 a.m.
Huell ran into a very nice lady in a camera store who told him how much she enjoyed riding the Metrolink every day and invited him to come along. Huell and Luis ride from Montclair to L.A. meeting some wonderful people along the way.
Hidden Garden –12:00 p.m.
Huell finds a special garden hidden in the desert near 29 Palms where owner Ray Hartzell gives him a private tour.
Lake Shrine – 12:30 p.m.
Huell visits The Self-Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine, an oasis in the middle of Los Angeles that was originally a location for silent films in the 1920’s.
Vernon Light & Power– 1:00 p.m.
Vernon Light and Power Plant has provided the city of Vernon with power for over 60 years. This beautiful Art Deco building and its five huge diesel motors rumble back to life after a long shutdown.
Biltmore – 1:30 p.m.
Huell tours the historic Biltmore Hotel and attends the 75th anniversary gala that is an exact recreation of opening night in 1923. The Biltmore has housed numerous celebrities and every American President that has been in office since its opening.
Palms – 2:00 p.m.
According to experts, Ralph Velez’s palms make up one of the largest private collections in the world. Huell tours Velez’s home in Orange County which is packed with about 560 species of palms from around the world.
Diapers – 2:30 p.m.
Huell gets an up close look at the how the business of home diaper delivery service functions with the family owned and operated Dy-dee Diaper Co.
Orchids – 3:00 p.m.
Huell travels up the coast to Carpinteria to find out everything there is to know about orchids. Gallup & Stribling Orchids is the largest grower of cymbidium orchids in North America with 48 acres.
Alpacas – 3:30 p.m.
Huell meets the proud owners of a herd of wonderfully strange animals, the Alpaca.
Glass Museum – 4:00 p.m.
Huell tours the Historical Glass Museum in Redlands. The museum is housed in a 1903 Victorian home, filled with beautiful glassware.
Remembering – 4:30 p.m.
Huell remembers two special people who made a big difference in the lives of many Southern Californians, one of whom began a children’s choir before being tragically killed and another who was known as the “Scrabble Lady.”
Harps – 5:00 p.m.
Sylvia Woods Harp Center in Glendale is the largest harp store west of Mississippi. Huell gets a crash course in this fascinating instrument and even learns to play a song.
DWP – 5:30 p.m.
Huell tours San Francisquito Canyon at historic DWP Power House #1 built in 1911. It is an original part of the L.A. Aqueduct and is still used today.
Lincoln Tribute – 6:00 p.m.
Huell and Charlton Heston join a reading of Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address at the Veterans Cemetery in Westwood.
Lane Victory – 6:30 p.m.
Huell goes on a cruise after spending the day on WWII victory ship, the Lane Victory, which has been restored by volunteers.
Space Shuttle Café – 7:00 p.m.
Huell visits with a couple who have a café on wheels in the shape of a space shuttle.
Lake Hemet – 7:30 p.m.
While poking around southern California on his summer vacation, Huell discovers this little gem of a lake.
