LA Video (1974–1984) is a one-night only screening co-curated by the Getty Research Institute and Now Instant to celebrate the 2nd anniversary of Now Instant’s Chinatown theater. Drawing from the GRI’s rich archives, the program revisits groundbreaking video artworks from the Long Beach Museum of Video Art collection, tracing the evolution of experimental moving image art across decades of Southern California creativity. Introduced by GRI curator Glenn Phillips, this 75-minute program is an unmissable evening for cinephiles, video artists, and lovers of LA’s avant-garde spirit.
