Characterized by shadowy figures, dark grounds, and elusive forms, Reggie Burrows Hodges’s recent paintings may seem far removed from the world of the Old Masters. Yet they are informed by a sustained dialogue with early modern European painting. Rather than imitating historical models, Hodges reimagines their formal strategies through a contemporary lens shaped by questions of identity, memory, and perception. Join Hodges and curators Davide Gasparotto and Bridget R. Cooks for a wide-ranging conversation about his artistic practice, inspiration, and storied career.

For in-person attendees, a hosted reception and exhibition viewing follows the conversation.
