A powerful new exhibition by acclaimed Mexican artist Libertad Alcántara, whose work boldly confronts the emotional and social aftermath of ICE raids in Los Angeles and across the U.S. “Ahí Viene el Coco / Here Comes the Boogeyman” will be on view November 20 – December 27, 2025 at DON’T LOOK Projects, located at 2680 S. La Cienega Blvd, Los Angeles, 90034. To mark the opening, Alcántara will host an Artist Talk on November 20 at 3:00 PM PST at DON’T LOOK Projects—offering an intimate look into her creative process and the deeply personal experiences that inspired this body of work. Through her surreal yet human-centered paintings, Alcántara captures the tension between displacement and resilience, infusing each piece with grim humor and emotional honesty. The exhibition gives voice to the lived realities behind immigration policy—inviting viewers to confront the fear, courage, and dignity of those impacted by ICE raids.
