As the Hilbert Museum marks its tenth anniversary, visitors become the guest curators in this special exhibition featuring artworks selected from thousands of comments in visitor books and online reviews. The exhibition reunites many of the museum's most beloved paintings and illustrations by artists including Millard Sheets, Emil Kosa Jr., Milford Zornes, Henrietta Berk, Dong Kingman, Frank Romero, Emigdio Vasquez, Burr Singer, Ernie Barnes Jr., and many others. Curated by Museum Director Mary Platt, the exhibition celebrates the extraordinary range of California art that has captivated audiences since the museum first opened its doors in 2016. In the next chapter of its year-long 10th anniversary celebration, the Hilbert Museum of California Art at Chapman University will open its first-ever show of artwork dictated by thousands of visitor comments, requests and feedback collected since the museum debuted in 2016.

“Back by Popular Demand: 10th Anniversary Favorites from The Hilbert Collection” opens Sept. 30 as the museum’s first-ever “best-of” show featuring the decade’s most beloved paintings and illustrations by such artists as Millard Sheets, Emil Kosa Jr., Milford Zornes, Henrietta Berk, Dong Kingman, Frank Romero, Emigdio Vasquez, Burr Singer, Ernie Barnes Jr., and others.
