Cinema Botanica: Beautiful Biodiversity Documentary Double Feature
CalBG celebrates healthy ecosystems and the pollinators that sustain them with a documentary double feature! Join us for the live premiere of California in Bloom, a 30 minute documentary tracing efforts to support our state’s incredible biodiversity, filmed in part at California Botanic Garden. The premiere will be followed by The Extraordinary Caterpillar, which introduces viewers to the adorable and amazing tiny creatures that help hold together the ecosystems that power all life on earth. Pre-movie activities include flower and caterpillar crafts and pollinator trivia.

Cinema Botanica is a nature-themed outdoor film series, presented in California Botanic Garden’s magical Forest Pavilion.

Every paid ticket includes a free popcorn with optional native plant infused topping (flavors coming soon)!

Non-alcoholic drinks and additional popcorn available for purchase.

Doors open at 7 PM for pre-movie trivia and craft activity, movie starts c. 8 PM (or as soon as the light conditions allow). CalBG will provide folding chairs, but please feel free to bring your own comfy camp chair if you prefer.
